ABOUT OZONE

Ozon is a colorless gas at normal temperatures and is a very powerful oxidant that naturally exists all around us. Unlike various bleaches and chlorine, it is completely safe to use as a cleaning or disinfecting agent. It purifies the air, destroys bacteria, removes odors and grease. Ozone consists of three oxygen atoms (O3), and the air around us has two oxygen atoms (O2). It is all around us and is formed from oxygen by the sun’s ultraviolet rays or through lightning that occurs during storms. The smell of "fresh and clean spring rain" that we notice after storms is most often the result of natural ozone formation.

Ozone application:
Health sector (operating theaters, laboratories, unclean rooms, waiting rooms, surgeries, patient rooms, contaminated equipment…)
In the production of food and beverages (production lines, critical equipment, refrigerators, warehouses, packaging…)
In the preparation of food and drink (commercial kitchen exhaust systems)
The pharmaceutical industry (laboratories, product packaging, critical equipment…)
Tourism sector (hotels, swimming pools, spas, gyms, saunas)
On vessels for ballast water treatment (removal of unpleasant odors)
In public transport (buses, trams, trains, planes)
Agriculture (processing, production lines, packaging, storage, transport)…

Ozone action:
Ozone is an extremely effective disinfectant. It destroys bacteria 3,000 times faster than chlorine. In contact with bacteria, viruses or spores, it destroys the nucleus of the microorganism. Because the bacterium has a cell membrane , ozone will destroy the cell membrane and thus kill the bacterium, because the bacterium is made up of protein, RNA and DNA. In order to kill a bacterium, its structure must be destroyed. Ozone will penetrate the bacteria, damage the protein layer and thus kill the bacteria.
An additional oxygen atom completely neutralizes substances such as odors or pesticides by an oxidation reaction. Instead of masking the unpleasant odor, ozone chemically destroys the substance that causes it, then the rest of the ozone naturally dissolves very quickly back into oxygen. Safety of ozone application: Ozone has been known for a little over a century and much is known about it. One of the most commercially available oxidants. In addition to its oxidizing abilities, it is environmentally friendly. Contaminants, dyes, odors and microorganisms are directly destroyed by oxidation, without the formation of harmful by-products or significant residues. When used properly, as well as many other things, ozone is completely safe. Properly implemented and used ozonation system does not pose any health hazard at low exposure levels. Ozone is far less harmful than conventional cleaners, and many other chemicals we use in households. It is recognized and approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Agency, USA) as an antibacterial treatment for drinking water purification, and for meat decontamination processes.

... more about Ozone

Ozone disinfection surpasses traditional treatments. Ozone is an effective antimicrobial oxidant that can be safely used as a disinfectant, instead of traditional chemical or thermal disinfection methods. It is used as a gas or dissolved in water as an aqueous solution. Ozone has been confirmed as a "killer" of all known pathogens and has been safely tested for the environment or work in areas where people will stay after disinfection. Ozone has also been safely tested by a third party - by scientists, since 1906 for a number of pathogens in a number of applications. However, almost all have confirmed the same pathogens that are considered critical for food safety, and therefore for human safety (E. coli, Listeria, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Campylobacter, Pseudomonas, Bacillus Cryptosporidium, Aspergillus, Norovirus, Adenovirus ().
Research has shown that ozone is more effective and has a higher oxidation potential than most traditional disinfectants (chlorine, hydrogen peroxide, peroxy acids and chlorine dioxide), and its use eliminates the need to use different cleaning agents because contaminants cannot build tolerance on ozone.
Ozone is non-corrosive to work surfaces, does not adversely affect the organoleptic properties of food and has no residue after application (no final rinsing with water is required), and can help extend shelf life while improving overall food safety.
Ozone can be used to disinfect surfaces before, during or after production. When used in manufacturing, ozone will reduce cleaning time between conveyor belts, and reduce downtime for cleaning and disinfection. When sprayed on equipment during processing, ozone can eliminate biofilm and significantly reduce the appearance of grease, oil and grease on all surfaces. Ozone is applied in aqueous solution or in a gaseous state when treating space.
STERISAFE TM with its patented FDDC TM automatic disinfection technology, is the only one to guarantee complete disinfection without harmful residues after treatment. Also, our devices instantly convert ozone into oxygen through a reversible process, allowing instant and safe access to the treated area.
